The castle was originally conceived and constructed by Edward Stafford, the only man to rival King Henry VIII’s wealth and status at that time. It was a display of wealth and ambition that Henry did not take kindly to, and after Stafford was found guilty of treason, the king took control of the castle he so coveted. A brief, beloved retreat for Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, Thornbury Castle has weathered the tumult of British history over the centuries.

After party at The Swan
Dating back to the 17th Century, The Swan is a traditional pub, based on the High Street in Thornbury, a historic market town on the outskirts of Bristol. The Swan is an original coach house, indeed the oldest pub in Thornbury and the only one to retain its original name. With great cask beers, home-cooked food, a B&B and regular events, we have lots to offer both locals and visitors to our beautiful market town.

Bridesmaids
Andrea’s bridesmaids are the women who have shown up for her in the real moments, the ones who have supported her, kept her grounded, and made her laugh when she needed it most. Lewis’ groomsmen are, in a very real sense, all best men. They are the people who have had his back through the highs, the hard graft, and everything in between. From mates he has made through work to neighbours who became proper friends, each of them has been a steady presence in his life, always there, always up for a laugh, and always willing to show up when it matters. He feels incredibly fortunate to have this group beside him on the day, and even more fortunate to have them in his life.
